Welcome to the season of regeneration, emotional growth and alchemy!
Scorpio is Yin Fixed Water, where we probe the mystery, descend into the soul cave to pursue personal truth, our power, and learn more of what we’re really made of.
Where do you have Scorpio in your chart? How intimate are you with your power? Please sit with these questions. Do you know how powerful you are? Where and how and when do you feel powerful?
In Scorpio season we witness themes of transformation, the life/death/life cycle, rebirth, energy moving deeper within, mystery, soul awareness, alchemy, shadow work, intimacy, desire, control, psychic abilities, empathy, shared karma and our generative power.
This is a lot, and it’s water, so even though it’s fixed water, the element itself is fluid, and the fixed modality can manifest either as stagnant water, or it can be in a constant state of change, or we can look at the water cycle itself, and how water has memory of everything it touches, how our memories are strongly tied to emotion, and how we are always in the midst of some type of change.
Those of us with strong Scorpio understand intimately the nature of being constantly reborn, constantly changing or constantly in some type of crisis. There’s never a dull moment when engaging with Scorpio energy. It’s like nonstop emotional engagement of some kind.
I always laugh when Valentine’s day comes around and people warn not to have sex because you will likely produce a Sun in Scorpio child, as though that would be a bad thing. Truly, those with strong Scorpio in their charts are some of my favorite beings, so completely in touch with their power, and magnetizing healing processes wherever they go. It’s always so profound to meet a Scorpionic person who is aware of their purpose and power, and who uses it gracefully and with wisdom.
With every archetype there is a spectrum. There are challenges, unconscious expressions, gifts and wisdom within each archetype.
With Scorpio, we invite in more transcendent awareness around our relationship to our soul, to our deeper truth, and how we navigate the world, and share ourselves with others. How we heal, how we evolve, how we confront ourselves and anything in the way of our highest evolution.
The planetary rulers of Scorpio are traditionally Mars, and modernly Pluto. Combined, this is a very confronting sign, asking us to become warriors for our own evolution.
The ability to shapeshift is a Scorpio power. Able to blend in and embody the scorpion hidden beneath the sand, attuning to the earth’s vibrations, to then fly high in the sky as the eagle, able to zoom in on details with such precision, to the phoenix being reborn from its ashes, seeing what is beyond this dimension. Someone embodied in their Scorpio gifts is truly a magical being. They can see everything when operating from a healed space. They see through subtle nuance and are always reading between the lines.
For all of us, we can use this Scorpio season to become more acquainted with what’s under the surface, or the power hidden in our own heart.
We all have Scorpio somewhere, and looking at this part of your chart can show you where you have a yearly purge of shadow, and a yearly invitation into a more holistic form of your power. This is where you magnetize evolution, for yourself, and for others, and for that reason, we really need to own this part of our chart. This ownership of our power is what dilutes any attempt at abuse, coercion or manipulation from outside forces.
Sometimes we can struggle with self-esteem and worthiness when dealing with the shadow of Scorpio. This stems often from societal conditioning from a culture that doesn’t embrace strong emotional intelligence and spiritual power. Usually to confront this we need to approach ourselves with absolute sincerity, acceptance and forgiveness of anywhere we’ve fumbled on our journey to knowing how to navigate our power. It’s often only when we run from or abandon ourselves that the shadow of sign takes root, most often manifests through a lack of trust in self or other or life.
The fixed nature of Scorpio requires us to be fixed in our determination to stay the course when dealing with a challenge, to see it all the way through to the end. When most things come into contact with Scorpio power, the situation takes on the “it’s got to grow or it’s got to go” kind of energy.
When we finally come home to and confront the parts of ourselves that we have been most afraid of looking at, we start to begin the healing process. Emotional processing is really about this tactic of completely welcoming, accepting, and loving what arises. All of us have this opportunity this Scorpio season. Please reach out to your Scorpio people. Sometimes they like to hide, and struggle to ask for what they need, but they need to know that they are loved and appreciated, and this acknowledgment invites more of the gift nature of Scorpio.
Scorpio season transits:
Our New Moon Nov 4th at 12˚ Scorpio will oppose Uranus Rx in Taurus by the exact degree, and involve Mars and Vesta in Scorpio. The New Moon is also sandwiched between squares to both Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius, emphasizing three quarters of the fixed cross, or the four guardians. Note the four fold symbolism we always see including the Lion (Leo), angel (Aquarius), Eagle (Scorpio) and Bull (Taurus). Together, they are the four watchers, or guardians of our galaxy. Having 3 of the 4 lit up in this New Moon configuration invites much reflection on cosmic truths, and cosmic order. There is an invitation of something galactic with this New Moon, first asking us to confront our fears within, so we can train ourselves to stay the course when challenged externally.
The Full Moon in Taurus partial lunar eclipse November 19th at 27˚14’ Taurus will bring us back to the full on confrontation of our karmic path. The Moon will be conjunct the North Node, inviting in new emotional self-awareness, new levels of identity expression, and the Sun will be conjunct the South Node, anchoring us in our ancient truth. We are at the tail end of our time with the Nodal Axis in Gemini/Sagittarius, and next January 2022 we’ll have the nodes moving into Taurus/Scorpio for the next 18 months. This Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus with the Sun shining from Scorpio will give us a micro-dose of the energy we’ll be working with prominently in 2022 and 2023.
Fasting might be encouraged during the Scorpio New Moon (Nov 4) and the Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus (Nov 19). Scorpio rules the excretion process, and how we are able to detox what no longer serves in our bodies. Fasting can support this, as can doing a cleanse. You know your body best, and trust yourself and how you need to process everything this season.
Remember you are not alone, you’re doing an amazing job with all that you’re integrating, and we are on this conscious evolution journey together!
In cosmic service,
